PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily realize a forward seven-stage by the combination of three single pinion planetary gear sets and increase the performance of an automatic transmission by securing the durability, productivity, and freedom degree of design of planetary gears. SOLUTION: A first ring gear and a second planetary carrier, a second ring gear and a third planetary carrier, and a third ring gear and a first planetary carrier are fixedly connected to each other for combination, respectively. A first sun gear is fixedly connected selectively between an input shaft and a transmission case through a second clutch and a first brake, a second sun gear is always fixedly connected to the input shaft, and a third sun gear is fixedly connected selectively between the input shaft and the transmission case through the third clutch and a third brake. The second planetary carrier is selectively connected in the clearance thereof from the input shaft through a first clutch. The third planetary carrier is selectively connected to the transmission case through a second brake and a one-way clutch, and the third ring gear is connected to the output shaft.
