PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of efficiently utilizing the cleaning action of a photocatalyst even during a drying operation. SOLUTION: When a washing process and a rinsing process are ended (steps S4, S7 and S8), stored water inside an outer tub is discharged while an ultraviolet ray lamp is kept on. Then, when water drainage and spin-drying are ended, a drying heater of a drying unit is operated. Simultaneously, the rotation of a drying fan is controlled and warm air warmed by the drying heater is sent out to the outer tub. Thus, air for drying is circulated between the inside of the outer tub and the inside a cleaning unit. Then, by the rotation control of a driving motor for a drum, a drying process is started (step S9). When the drying process is ended, the ultraviolet ray lamp is put out (step S10).
