PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standing up assisting chair which allows a user to operate a switch for a desired movement using the fingertip of a hand gripping an armrest while supporting the body of the user using the armrest. SOLUTION: The standing up assisting chair 10 supports the body of the user 12 using the armrest 20 while the user is standing or sitting. By insering the fingertip 12a of the hand gripping the armrest 20 into recesses 22a-22c formed on the upper surface of the front end of the armrest 12, switches 38a-38c of an operation switch 38 arranged on the bottom face of the recesses 22a-22c are pressed and operated. According to the pressing operation of the switches 38b or 38c, a seat displacement mechanism 33 performs displacement operation so as to displace a seat section 13 on which the user 12 sits to a status either for assisting standing up or for sitting down of the user 12.
