The lid-less folded box has a base, and side walls (4) with grip openings (9) and inward folded end flaps. A fold-over strip (14) hinged to the top edge (13) of each end wall (5) engages over the top edges (15) of the end flaps (7,8) and engages on the inside of the innermost end flap. The end flaps overlap each other in the area of the grip openings, and they have grip openings (10) aligned with the first ones. Side and end walls are trapeze-shaped and widen upwards. The height of the box is larger than its width at the base.
