PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming apparatus responding to such a request to improve the efficiency of image formation in a monochromatic mode because the efficiency of image formation is low when a monochromatic image is formed in the color image forming apparatus, although the monochromatic image is often formed in the color image forming apparatus.

SOLUTION: An image is formed by using toner having a high softening point and a high content of a release agent as black toner.
