<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder capable of shortening a first print output time without disturbing an excellent image formation. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoreceptor drum 16 is developed with toner and the developed toner image on the drum 16 is transferred to an intermediate transfer belt 14, thereby forming an image. The image forming apparatus is equipped with a cleaning roll 24 arranged to be opposed to the toner image formed surface of the drum 16, temporarily recovering the toner remaining after transferring the toner image to the belt 14 when the image is formed, and discharging the recovered toner in prescribed timing when the image is not formed, and a voltage transformation part 62 applying voltage whose polarity is made opposite each other between when the image is formed and when the image is not formed to the roll 24. In the case of switching the polarity of the voltage applied to the roll 24 by the voltage transformation part 62 when the image is not formed after finishing forming the image, the voltage applied when the image is formed is applied in a prescribed period at least until starting forming the image next. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
