<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of producing an image which can enhance visibility of the image including characters for a weak-sighted person. <P>SOLUTION: Inputted image data is divided into a plurality of division areas, and attributes (text, image, background) of each area are determined (steps 100-106). When a text area exists, that area is enlarged into a rectangular area, histrogram of lightness is created, and difference of lightness between a character part and a background part is calculated based on the histogram thus created (steps 108-114). When the difference of lightness is not larger than a threshold, a correction processing for enhancing visibility of a weak-sighted person at the character part is carried out for all text areas and corrected image data is outputted (steps 106-122). In the correction processing, contrast correction, saturation correction, hue transformation, and the like, are carried out based on the fact whether the character part and the background part are achromatic or not. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
