PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both a call and a route guide in the route guide using a portable terminal. SOLUTION: A cellular phone as a route guide device can perform the route guide by map display and voice output. When a user is speaking by telephone also during the route guide, the respective occupation degrees of display and voice output by a route guide function and a communication function are adjusted in six control modes set depending on that in which of guide point/announcement point/other section the present point is, and that in which of communication/incoming call the state is. The occupation degree of display is controlled by the size of a display screen provided by each function. The occupation degree of voice output is controlled by the availability of the voice guide of route during the voice call.
