PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unsophisticatedly prevent rotation caused by compression of a coil spring in a spring receiving structure of a hydraulic shock absorber. SOLUTION: In this spring receiving structure for the hydraulic shock absorber 10, part on the terminal side of a lower end turn section 30 of the coil spring 24 is formed into a bent section 31 with a different curvature different from that of another section 32. Moreover, there are a terminal receiving section 41 colliding with a terminal surface 30A of the lower end turn 30 of the coil spring 24 and a protruding section 42 for supporting the outer periphery of the bent section 31 of the end turn section 30.
