PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector with a shutter in which a plug insertion port of the optical connector is opened and closed by the shutter, the shutter of an inwardly opened type requiring no opening operation is employed and the storage space of the shutter is reduced as small as possible. SOLUTION: The optical connector is provided with, in the vicinity of an entrance of the plug insertion port 11 formed on a case 10, the inwardly opened type shutter 20 inwardly opened by insertion of a plug section into the plug insertion hole 11, and employs a twisted coil spring in which a pair of arm sections 32 and 33 is projected into two directions from a coil section 31, as a shutter energizing spring 30 which is used to elastically hold the shutter 20 in a closed position, the shutter energizing spring 30 being arranged between the back surface of the shutter 20 and the inner wall surface of the case 10 so that the coil section 31 is directed toward the hole back side. The shutter energizing spring 30 is also arranged so that both arm sections 32 and 33 are held between the shutter 20 and the inner wall surface of the case 10 and the coil section 31 is placed outside between the shutter 20 and the inner wall surface of the case 10 when the shutter 20 is opened and is set along the inner wall surface of the case 10.
