PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronizer for a transmission capable of securing the product life thereof for a long period by maintaining a synchronization function until a clearance Y or a clearance Z becomes zero. SOLUTION: This constant load type synchronizer comprises a synchronizing hub 2, a coupling sleeve 3, and clutch gears 4 and 7, and completes gear shifting by, in gear shifting for axially moving the coupling sleeve 3 joined to the synchronizing hub 2, allowing a coupling spline teeth 3a to mesh with only clutch gear spline teeth 4a and 7a formed in the clutch gears 4 and 7. Where the clearance between the synchronizing hub 2 and the shaft is X, the clearance between the synchronizing hub 2 and the tip of clutch gear cone faces 4c and 7c is Y, and the clearance between the synchronizing hub 2 and the end face of the clutch gear spline teeth 4a and 7a is Z, the relation of the clearances X, Y, and Z is set to be X≥min (Y, Z).
