PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt training idler used for a guide roller or the like for a linerboard, a strip-shaped sheet material such as a synthetic resin film, a belt, or the like to run in the longitudinal direction, in which structure is simple to be manufactured at low cost, and in which meandering of subject material to be run can be securely prevented. SOLUTION: A support shaft 5 is inserted on the inner side of a roller main body 4 in a cylindrical form, and the roller main body is supported by a self-aligning bearing 6 fixed to a middle part of the support shaft to be capable of inclining.
