PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt conveyor on which advantageous possibility exists particularly for inexpensive repairing of a guide element circulating together with a carrier belt, by enabling operation unhindered over a long time by generation of a little noise, even when peripheral velocity of the carrier belt is high. SOLUTION: This belt conveyor is formed by fixing a large number of separate clamp shoes 35 along the carrier belt 25 in the carrying direction 28. The clamp shoes 35 respectively have a fixed deformed material fixed to the carrier belt 25, and a spring elastic clamp element 36 joined to the fixed deformed material. The guide element 27 is formed of the clamp element 36. An elastic flexible guide strip piece 50 extends over the total length of the carrier belt 25 without being substantially interrupted in the carrying direction 28, and is relatively fastened to the fixed deformed material.
