PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Meyer bar coating apparatus capable of enhancing quality of coating by certainly preventing excessive coating scraped off by the Meyer bar from being deposited on an uncoated area of a material to be coated. SOLUTION: The Meyer bar 3 for scraping off the excessive coating of the coating coated on the material W to be coated is received and rotatably supported to a retaining groove 14 of a Meyer bar support block 10. An uncoated groove 20 in which the Meyer bar 3 is not contacted with an inner surface of the retaining groove 14 is provided on a portion corresponding to the uncoated area W3 set on the material W to be coated. The excessive coating flowing from the retaining groove 14 to the uncoated area W3 side is dropped off to the uncoated groove 20.
