<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing an inkjet recording paper in photographic quality having a high ink absorption property without deteriorating the productivity or increasing weakness of a film. <P>SOLUTION: In this method of producing an inkjet recording paper, a water-base coating liquid including an inorganic fine particle and polyvinyl alcohol having a saponifying degree of 90 mol% or more is applied on a polyolefin-coated paper support body obtained by applying polyolefin on both faces of a paper, and then the liquid is dried. After a porous ink absorption layer is formed thereon, the support body is maintained at a temperature in the range of 70-95°C for at least ten seconds.
