<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic roll which is excellent in dimensional accuracy and also excellent in dimensional stability with time, and has no adverse effect on the environment and manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The elastic roll includes a shaft body 1, a base rubber layer 2 formed around its periphery, and a surface layer 3 formed around the periphery of the base rubber layer 2. The surface layer 3 is formed of a thermoplastic resin film. The elastic roll is manufactured by including the step of producing a roll base body, in which the base rubber layer 2 is formed around the periphery of the shaft body 1, by metal molding, the step of corona discharging the peripheral face of the roll base body, the step of preparing the thermoplastic resin film and coating one side of the film (the internal circumferential face 3a of the surface layer 3) with a silane coupling agent, the step of positioning the coated face opposite the peripheral face of the roll base body and covering the peripheral face of the roll base body with the thermoplastic resin film, and the step of placing the roll base body covered with the thermoplastic resin film into a metal mold and joining the thermoplastic resin film and the roll base body by the application of heat. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
