<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery, which suppresses short-circuiting in the battery and deterioration of cycle characteristics which are caused by so called a dendrite, by enabling use of a negative electrode containing no lithium such as a carbon negative electrode, and prevents the battery voltage of the battery from lowering while increasing a battery capacity (initial capacity in particular), and also to provide its manufacturing method of the electrode, the battery using the electrode, and a manufacturing method for the battery. <P>SOLUTION: In this nonaqueous electrolyte battery provided with the positive electrode 1 containing a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode containing a negative electrode active material capable of occluding and discharging lithium, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, a lithium-iron composite sulfide the composition of which is expressed by a composition formula Li<SB>x</SB>FeS<SB>Y</SB>(X≈4, Y≈2) is contained in the positive electrode active material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
