<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of notifying two visually impaired person the kinds of an original in voice which is read by an original reader. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a voice generating device for generating voice, an image reading means which optically reads an original and converts it into electronic data, a data storage means which temporarily stores image data read by the image reading means, and an image forming means for forming on a recording medium a visible image based on the image data stored in the image recording means. It also comprises a character string discriminating means which discriminates a region of the image and a character string in the image region from the image data read by the image reading means, and a means for controlling the voice generating device based on judging result of the character string judging means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
