<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head which can effectively inhibit the breakage of the shaft at the neck end part thereof and a golf club with the same. <P>SOLUTION: The golf club has the golf club head 1, the shaft 5 and the grip. The golf club head 1 has the body 2 of the head made of a metal having a recessed shaft receiver 2a for receiving the shaft 5 and a sleeve 3, made of a metal with an elastic modulus lower than the body 2 of the head, which is mounted outside the shaft 5 within the shaft receiver 2a.
