<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control system for purifying exhaust gas by effectively reducing NO<SB>x</SB>in exhaust gas and oxidizing particulate matters well. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control system has an NO<SB>x</SB>reduction catalyst 20 located upstream of an exhaust passage; two kinds of oxidation catalysts 14 and a filter catalyst 21 located downstream; an injection valve 22 for injecting hydrocarbon-based fuel serving as a reducing agent upstream of the NO<SB>x</SB>reduction catalyst 20; and a controller 30 for controlling the injection quantity of the injection valve 22 in response to information on an exhaust gas temperature, exhaust gas flow and NO<SB>x</SB>concentration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
