<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerant to which an odorant which does not cause reaction with the material of a refrigerating circuit and a refregerating machine oil is added, and having compatibility with a refrigerant and the refregerating machine oil, and a refrigeration unit in which the refrigerant circulates in the refrigerating circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The refrigerant is formed mainly of an inflammable fluorine hydrocarbon in which a hydrocarbon with a carbon number of 1 to 4 or a part of the hydrogen atoms of the hydrocarbon is substituted with fluorine atoms, and contains tetrahydrothiophene as the odorant.
