PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which is provided in an imaging apparatus and which can regulate the brightness of a screen in a short time. SOLUTION: The display device 58 is provided in the imaging apparatus 10 having a passive range finding type range finding means 16 for calculating a distance to a subject based on a pair of range finding calculating data by generating the pair of range finding calculating data by integrating the output signals of a pair of line sensors 74L, 74R imaged by the image of the subject, and an imaging means 34 for imaging the image of the subject. The display device 58 includes a display unit 64 for displaying the image of the subject imaged by the imaging means, an integrating time detection unit 104 for detecting the integrating time of the output signal until the range finding calculating data is generated in the range finding means, and a brightness control unit 106 for controlling the brightness of the display unit based on the integrating time detected by the integrating time detecting unit.
