DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE AND LIGHTING EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting apparatus whose reliability in waterproofness is improved and which is manufactured easily. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with: a printed wiring board 32 where inserting type electric wire connectors 37 and 38 are mounted respectively to both ends of the printed wiring board, and various kinds of electric parts 33 to 36 forming a discharge lamp lighting circuit are mounted between these connectors 37 and 38; a pair of end members 41 supporting both the ends of the board 32; and a waterproof cylinder 52 for housing the board 32. The end members 41 are provided with waterproof members 45 made of soft materials through which electric wires inserted to the connectors 37 and 38 are put liquid-tight. The end members 41 are arranged by covering the ends of the board 32. The cylinder 52 is in a state of a cylinder whose peripheral wall has liquid-tight structure and both ends of which are opened, respectively.
