ON-LINE ROLL GRINDER APPARATUS AND GRINDING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll grinding controller for an on-line roll grinder apparatus with which difference between a work roll profile after grinding and the target roll profile is reduced as much as possible. SOLUTION: The on-line roll grinder apparatus is provided with a center deviation calculation unit 16 which calculates the deviation of the center of a worn part of a work roll from the center of a rolling line on the basis of a measured roll profile and transmits the calculated deviation to an optimum roll profile calculation unit 12 or an estimated roll profile calculation unit 15A, and a grinding wheel for grinding the work roll is controlled on the basis of the optimum roll profile or an estimated roll profile which is calculated on the basis of the deviation.
