PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a method for cleaning bottom sludge which can prevent a deterioration in water quality of a bay or a lake for a long period of time by efficiently keeping a continuous aerobic decomposition for bottom sludge. SOLUTION: The method for cleaning bottom sludge is to charge water-permeable granular or powdery porous materials into bottom sludge. The porous materials are lapili, zeolite, charcoal, incineration ash, etc. A housing member, through which water can flow to the outside and inside, is filled with the granular powdery porous materials and the housing member is buried into bottom sludge to disperse and charge the porous materials.
