METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HEAVY METAL ADSORBENT AND ADSORBENT OBTAINED THEREBY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical method for manufacturing a heavy metal adsorbent usable in treatment of various harmful heavy metals by the use of inexpensive and easily handleable raw materials. SOLUTION: The adsorbent is manufactured by calcining, at 300-1,100°C, calcium aluminate hydrate which is synthesized from a mixed slurry obtained by adding aluminum hydroxide and water to calcium oxide or hydroxide. The adsorbent obtained by the method permits effective treatment of heavy metals by mixing it with a target object involving heavy metals. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
