<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dampening method for an actuator and the actuator capable of significantly suppressing resonance peaks owned by the actuator by right, without interferences with the characteristics of the actuator, using a laminated type piezoelectric element, and to provide a displacement increasing mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: This actuator includes an piezoelectric element 12 and a movable section, in response to the displacement of the piezoelectric element, as well as the displacement increasing mechanism 14 for increasing a displacement of the piezoelectric element. The movable section is securely formed with an elastic body or a restraint member 30 through a viscoelastic body 32 to convert oscillatory energy of the movable section into thermal energy, by deformation of the elastic body or the viscoelastic body, thus suppressing the resonance peak(s) of the actuator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
