<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric steering gear allowing a steering operator to feel an external force applied to a boat by transmitting the external force to a steering wheel so that he can manage quickly the boat motion caused by the external force and capable of giving reaction forces even to the left and right by removing the force due to the paddle rudder effect acting on the boat from the reaction force to the steering wheel without increasing the power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The electric steering gear is equipped with a rudder turning device 15 driven by a motor, the steering wheel 7 to operate the rudder turning device 15, a counter torque motor 11 to give a reaction force according to the operation of the steering wheel 7, a load sensor 16 to sense the external force applied to the boat when steered, and a counter torque computing circuit 17 to calculate the target torque of the counter torque motor 11 in accordance with the output of the load sensor 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
