PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus efficiently executing transfer processing without affecting other processing when saving and recovering image data from an image memory to another storage device. SOLUTION: A buffer memory 142 or the like for temporarily storing image data, a memory controller 141 or the like for executing input/output processing of image data with an input image processing unit 302, an output image processing unit 401 and the buffer memory, a large capacity hard disk device 144 or the like, an image data transfer bus 131 or the like to which the buffer memory and the hard disk device are connected, and a transfer means 147 or the like for executing transfer processing of image data between the buffer memory and the hard disk device via the image data transfer bus are prepared for each of fundamental colors (Y, M, C, K) forming a color image, and each image data transfer bus is connected with another bus 101 via a bus bridge 121 or the like.
