PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet discharging apparatus which can secure a replacement (attachment and detachment) space of a head unit while increase in size of the apparatus is suppressed. SOLUTION: The liquid droplet discharging apparatus comprises a drawing means which carries out drawing on a work W by the head unit 41 with a functional liquid droplet discharging head 72 carried on a head plate 73, a maintenance means 46 which carries out maintenance facing from the downside to the head unit 41, and a moving means 43 for moving the head unit 41 via a carriage 75 which detachably holds the head unit 41. The maintenance means 46 has a device body which carries out maintenance, and a lifting mechanism 235 which lifts the device body between an access position for accessing the functional liquid droplet discharging head 72, and a retreat position for constituting a working space for attachment and detachment of the head unit 41.
