PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hydroxycarboxylic acid-based polymer composition that has biodegradability, excellent heat stability in melting and excellent moldability of melt extrusion, injection molding, etc. SOLUTION: The hydroxycarboxylic acid-based polymer composition comprises 100 parts wt. of a hydroxycarboxylic acid-based polymer containing at least ≥70 mol% of a hydroxycarboxylic acid structural unit and ≥0.01 and <10 parts wt. of a specific phosphorus-containing compound. The hydroxycarboxylic acid-based polymer composition has the ratio of the weight reduction ratio of the hydroxycarboxylic acid-based polymer composition when kept in an inert gas flow at a melt temperature to that of the hydroxycarboxylic acid-based polymer containing at least ≥70 mol% of a hydroxycarboxylic acid structural unit in the inert gas flow at the melt temperature of <0.5.
