摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an organic EL device forming an organic EL layer by discharging and applying an organic EL material by an ink-jet method on a substrate, with uniform thickness of an organic EL thin film between pixels within effective optical area and in respective pixels. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the organic electroluminescent device uses a substrate for the organic electroluminescent device having an organic electroluminescent device forming area, including an effective optical area where, a plurality of display pixels related to display, and a first dummy area not related to the display have a plurality of effective optical area groups. The manufacturing method includes a process of forming a second dummy area around the effective optical area groups so as to surround the plurality of organic electroluminescent device forming area, and a process of forming a composition containing the organic electroluminescent material on the first dummy area, the second dummy area, and on the display pixels.
