PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closed type heating device having high freedom degree of shape and usable for a variety of applications. SOLUTION: In this closed type heating device, the inside of a roll 1 is maintained in a specified pressure state beforehand, a heat exchange fluid 8 is stored therein, and a heating member 6 is disposed in the roll 1. A heating fluid supply pipe 2 is connected to the inlet side of the heating member 6, and a fluid discharge pipe 4 is connected to the outlet side. A material to be heated is heated by the steam of the heat exchange fluid 8 generated in the roll 1, and cooled by the vaporization of the low temperature heat exchange fluid 8 distributed to the inner periphery of the roll 1.
