PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding bearing capable of appropriately maintaining an oil film of lubricating oil between the sliding bearing and a shaft even in the case wherein deformation due to high oil-film pressure is generated near a central part of the sliding bearing. SOLUTION: In this sliding bearing 1, a frequent contact part 31 is formed so that dimension a<SB>2</SB>of a flat part 9b of a projecting part 8b thereof is formed small, and an infrequent contact part 30 is formed so that dimension of a flat part 9a of a projecting part 8a thereof is formed large. With this structure, in the infrequent contact part 30 in the predetermined range in the axial direction on both sides of a central part of the sliding bearing in the axial direction, the oil film is not broken by the projecting part 8a, and in the frequent contact part 30 positioned in a range except the infrequent contact part 31 on an axial end 13 side thereof, the projecting parts 8b and 8a are easy to be worn and worn in early stage to form an oil film. The oil film by the lubricating oil can be thereby appropriately maintained over the whole between the sliding bearing 1 and the shaft 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
