PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard rail protection member capable of reducing manufacturing cost, covering a clearance between a bolt head exposed on the surface of a guard rail and the surface of the guard rail, and preventing the irregular reflection of light to allow a driver to confirm it visually and easily when its surface is flattened and a spotting member is provided on its surface. SOLUTION: This guard rail protection member made of synthetic resin or hard rubber is attached to a beam member of the guard rail. The guard rail protection member is provided with a plate-like body, right and left side walls extending from right and left sides at the center of the body to a rear face side, an inclined tapered part connecting the center of the body with the right and left walls, and a hook-like engaging part bent to the rear face side at the upper end of the body. The right and left side walls have trapezoidal shapes fitted into a recessed part of the beam member and adhere closely to the beam member. Parts corresponding to a protruding part and the recessed part of the beam member of the body have substantially flat shapes, and an engaging channel with which a clip fixed on the beam member is engaged is formed at the lower end of the body.
