<p>The present invention relates to an armor plate (10) comprising at least two opposite plates (B1, B2), spaced-apart by a distance of 40 mm, one of the plates being made from NTU-CG-HT carbon steel. The armor plate (10) of the present invention provides a safe and reliable armor-plating for the users, due to the use of a lightweight, resistant material having very good ballistic characteristics (NTU-CG-HT carbon steel). Thus, the final weight of the armor-plated vehicle is reduced, and this enables better performance and drivability. The invention foresees implementation of the plate (B2) of the armor plate (10) as a new internal finishing for the vehicle. This internal finishing will prevent the bullet from reach the inside of the vehicle. The bullet is prevented from penetrating the vehicle as follows: the bullet fired against the armor-plated vehicle goes through the armor plate (B1), which is typically the original vehicle plate, made, for example, from SAE 1006 carbon steel. After going through the plate B1, the bullet is diverted and hits the plate (B2), which is made from NTU-CG-HT carbon steel and will prevent the bullet from reaching the inside of the vehicle.</p> |
