<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-way clutch capable lowering force for attaching a roller to an outer wheel to surely restore the roller from a biting release state to a biting state. <P>SOLUTION: This one-way clutch is provided with an inner wheel 3, an outer wheel 4, the roller 13 disposed between both the wheels, an energizing member 14 for energizing the roller 13 in the biting direction, and a holder 15 for holding the roller 13; and a cam surface 11 for making the roller 13 bite therein and a roller holding part 21 for holding the roller 13 in the biting release state are formed on the outer wheel 4. A recessed part 21c for reducing the contact area of the roller 13 is formed in the roller holding part 21 of the outer wheel 4.
