DRIVING SUPPORT APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely judge the consciousness condition of a driver and to properly support the driving operation of a vehicle by the driver according to the consciousness condition.

SOLUTION: The activity condition of the brain of the driver is measured using an optical probe 1 and at the same time the visual recognition condition of the driver is measured using a camera 2 and an image processing section 3. The consciousness condition of the driver is judged in a consciousness condition judge section 4 from the result of the measurement, and an output control section 5 controls various kinds of actions for supporting the driving operation according to the result of the judgement.
