<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent failures in the event that a plurality of peripheral devices of the same kind are connected to one host device at the same time. <P>SOLUTION: A device driver 80 obtains the names of ports and the names of devices by asking a device management system 40 and creates the unique name of a shared object including those names. An application obtains the names of peripheral devices being accessed and the names of connection ports thereof by asking an image input/output management system 70 and creates the unique name of a shared object including those names.
