PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic lane change supporting device capable of supporting traffic lane changes in consideration of reaction of surrounding vehicles by deciding a causal relationship between operation of a direction indicator and changes in speed of the surrounding vehicles. SOLUTION: The traffic lane change supporting device detects a rear side vehicle running obliquely behind its own vehicle by rear side sensors 1a and 1b and compares speed of the rear side vehicle before operating the direction indicator 4 with speed of the rear side vehicle after operating the direction indicator 4. Thus, the causal relationship between behavioral changes of the rear side vehicle and the operation of the direction indicator 4 is decided and the decision result is transmitted to a driver.
