摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high reproducing resolution without an annealing treatment in a magneto-optical recording medium which is provided with a multi-layer magnetic material part comprising a recording layer, a reproducing layer, an intermediate layer which lies between the recording layer and the reproducing layer and changes an exchange coupling state between them, and which is also provided with a land part and a groove part usable as information tracks. SOLUTION: The magneto-optical recording medium X of this invention includes the multi-layer magnetic material part 10 comprising the recording medium 11, the intermediate layer 12, and the reproducing layer 13. The magnetic material part 10 includes relatively projecting land part 1, relatively saved groove part 2, and a boundary part 3 between them. The reproducing layer 13 has a multi-layer structure in which a 1st and 2nd material layers are alternately placed, and the 1st material layer in the land part and the groove part is thinner than the 1st material layer in the boundary part 3.
