PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and program for more flexibly adjusting the empty capacity of the hard disk of a computer. SOLUTION: When the empty capacity of a file storage unit 102 is "less than a reference capacity", it is determined that "erasure is possible", and a file whose elapsed time since a final access is "more than a reference time" is erased by a file erasing unit 140. Also, when it is determined that the empty capacity is "less than the reference capacity" even after the file is erased, the "reference time" being the reference of file erasure is corrected by a correcting unit 150.
