CHIP REMOVAL TOOL FOR TAP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove chips entwined with a cutting tap without exerting an influence on tapping. SOLUTION: Three engaging pawls 30 are relatively moved respectively in the axial direction in the straight groove 20 of the cutting tap 14 by moving the cutting tap with a tap drive device 18 and inserting from the tip end side into an insertion hole 24 of a cylindrical part 26. The pawls are engaged with the chips entwined with the cutting tap 14 and the chips are disengaged and removed from the cutting tap 14 by plucking with the pawl, breaking or segmenting the chip. Even when tapping a material having malleability, the tapping can be continuously performed and the efficiency for tapping is improved by removing the chips by appropriately inserting the cutting tap 14 in the cylindrical part 26 of the chip removal tool 10 every tapping of predetermined number of times or according to the entwined state of the chips.
