<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily record a composite image, wherein a template image is combined with an object image based on image data, in a short period of time. <P>SOLUTION: A recording paper roll 13 is composed of long thermal recording paper 12. Before the recording paper roll 13 is loaded into a printer 11, the template image, which is composed of a background image, a pattern, a character and the like, is preprinted on a front side 12a of the thermal recording paper 12, and an image recording pattern for identifying a position of an image recording area, wherein the template image is not formed, is printed on a backside 12b thereof.
