<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an optical part capable of finishing an end surface of the optical part flat by high quality polishing without letting sags generated on a peripheral edge part of the end surface for connection, and a plate for polishing. <P>SOLUTION: The plate for polishing used for polishing the connecting end surface of the optical part to be used for manufacturing an optical guided wave passage is used. Hereby, a hard resin material is used for the plate for polishing, and hardness of this hard resin material is set at a value not to lower flatness of the hard resin material even when stress from the peripheral edge part of the connecting end surface is added to it. It is possible to prevent the sagging on the peripheral edge part of the end surface for connection by using the plate for polishing made in accordance with such specifications. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
