<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the soiling of an electrifying means by toner and to prevent a defect on a print sample caused by the soiling by toner by accurately adjusting toner electrified amount on an image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: A light irradiation member 48 is arranged at least on either an upstream side wedge part 46A or a downstream side wedge part 46B between a photoreceptor 13 and a toner electrified amount control roller 34. Since the photoreceptor 13 is electrified by discharge by the roller 34 and destaticized by light irradiation by the member 48 just after the discharge, much more discharge currents are applied, and toner on the photoreceptor 13 is completely electrified to be negative. Therefore, the toner on the photoreceptor 13 is prevented from inadvertently sticking and soiling the roller 36, and the defect of the image quality caused by the soiling is prevented over a long term. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
