ELECTRIC DOUBLE-LAYER CAPACITOR AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double-layer capacitor that enables the number of short-circuit or LC (leak current) defects due to separator positional errors to decrease, and improves the volumetric efficiency; and to provide a method for manufacturing the electronic double-layer capacitor. SOLUTION: This electric double-layer capacitor is manufactured through the steps below: a polarizable electrode 4 is pattern-applied to two band-like collectors 1; one band-like collector is covered with a separator wider than the collector 1 to fabricate a second band 31; the band is orthogonalized with the other band-like collector 1 subject to electrode pattern application; lead terminals are provided to cells laminated by alternately folding them; and then they are all sealed with jacket materials.
