PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double-layer capacitor capable of obtaining high electrostatic capacitance from initial charge/discharge and obtaining high electrostatic capacitance even at a low temperature. SOLUTION: Carbon nanotube electrodes are provided respectively on a pair of glass substrates. Each carbon nanotube electrode includes a carbon nanotube 6 formed on a substrate 100. A lead-out electrode is connected with each carbon nanotube electrode. The carbon nanotube 6 is formed on a circular electrode forming region R on the substrate 100. A non-forming region 6a where no carbon nanotube 6 is formed is provided in the electrode forming region R. The non-forming region 6a is provided by masking the substrate 100 in a predetermined shape when the carbon nanotube 6 is to be formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
