PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having advanced safety as compared with before. SOLUTION: In the winding type nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprising: a negative electrode with a material that can electrochemically charge/discharge reacts with lithium as an active substance; a positive electrode with a lithium compound oxide as an active substance; a nonaqueous electrolyte, and a separator 20μm or smaller in thickness, a function for applying pressure from a winding core section to the outer periphery section is given, when battery temperature ranges from 70°to 150°, thus obtaining a safer battery that causes neither buckling nor internal short-circuiting during overcharging.
