PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a galvannealed steel sheet having both excellent peeling resistance and sliding characteristic of a plating layer, and to provide a method for manufacturing the galvannealed steel sheet. SOLUTION: In the galvannealed steel sheet, a layer consisting of at least one phase selected from Fe (αphase),Γphase,Γ<SB>1</SB>phase, andδ<SB>1</SB>phase is present in an outermost surface layer of a plating layer. A layer consisting of the phase having the highest Fe content among the phases present in the outermost surface layer of the plating layer is present in an island manner in the outermost surface layer of the plating layer. Fe (%) of the plating layer is reduced from the layer consisting of the phase having the highest Fe content to an interface between the plating layer and the steel sheet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
